Classroom Rules: 1. All students will report to DAEP at 7:50am and will be released at 2:10pm. Students MUST leave school grounds immediately. Students are not allowed to loiter before and/or after school a result of this will be a trespass violation. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian and student. Students may not ride a school district bus. 2. Student in DAEP are banned from all extra-curricular activities, this includes and is not limited to both the participation and attendance at any Chapin High School function regardless of the location of the activity, and this includes away games and events. Students are NOT allowed on any other school campus without written permission from a campus administrator. 3. Students MUST follow the DAEP dress code. Students MUST wear a plain (nothing on it) white shirt (T-shirt, polo, or collar shirts are accepted) and correct size of properly fitting at waist jeans with belt (NO SAGGING). Skirts, shorts, capris, torn jeans, earrings/piercings are NOT allowed. Necklaces are acceptable, but must be tucked inside the student shirt. 4. Students will have breakfast and lunch from the school cafeteria. Students are not allowed to bring their own food. The student will eat in an isolated area with no social interaction with regular education students. 5. DAEP students MUST be accompanied by a staff member whenever they leave the DAEP classroom for any reason, unless specifically authorized to do so by a campus administrator. Students will receive THREE restroom/water breaks a day. Students will NOT be allowed to have additional breaks, any additional breaks will only be granted with DOCTOR'S order. 6. Student may NOT remove any school owned books/materials from DAEP. All materials, including paper and writing utensils, needed to complete coursework will be provided. ALL coursework MUST be completed during DAEP classroom hours. 7. Students are allowed to bring book bags/backpacks/purses of any kind on campus to DAEP. However, the staff will collect them in the morning and give them back when they leave for the day. Cell phones, mp3 players, headphones, and items of that nature are NOT allowed. If they are brought, those as well as other items will be collected and locked up until the end of the day. Students who do not hand over these items will be given a referral for insubordination and further consequences will be assigned. 8. Any disruption in DAEP will NOT be tolerated. Students that attempt to incite other students to violate rules/policies, and/or physical or verbal confrontations with other students or staff members will result in further disciplinary action including but not limited to filing appropriate charges with police. 9. Students MUST complete all work assigned to them. Classwork will be provided along with instructional support and guidance from DAEP teachers. Additional assignments may be provided by the Administration, Counselors, and the At-Risk Coordinator. These assignments MUST be completed in order to exit DAEP. 10. Attendance, behavior, cooperation, and grades will be reviewed periodically. Based on review the student may or may not return to regular classes.
Students WILL ALWAYS respect themselves, our staff, other students, and our property.
These rules will be followed. Any rule that is broken will lead to disciplinary action.
